High school students wishing to learn Arabic while earning 2 college credits may be interested in UIUC’s 2-week Arabic High School Program which has a separate admission process.
Applying
High school students wishing to enroll SILMW must have satisfied the following requirements:
- Evidence that he/she possesses the requisite background and ability to pursue profitably courses for which he/she is qualified
- Written permission from high school guidance counselor or administrator upon enrollment
- Cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 or better out of 4.0 (note: University Laboratory High school students: 3.0 or better out of 4.0)
- Copy of official high school transcript upon enrollment
High school students must provide the necessary documents to the Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning as part of their registration process.
Registering
High school students must register here. Please review the Registration Policies and Instructions before proceeding. Registration typically opens in April.

Tuition and Fees
Each student will pay tuition costs (per credit hour) and other required university fees. Payments are made through Student Self-Service.

Tuition
High school students' tuition rate can be viewed by selecting the Non-Degree, CRN Based Tuition Rates option under the summer term here.
The number credit hours depend on the level of the language and if one or two summer terms are attended.
Tuition rate covers instruction for the full eight-week session. Tuition will be electronically billed by the University of Illinois.

Viewing and Transferring Final Grades
High School students have access to seeing all their final grades through Student Self-Service after the end of the summer session. Please note that all summer course grades are added to transcripts after the summer session. Non-degree students should follow their home institutions’ policies on transferring credit from UIUC.
