We are thrilled to share that Associated Professor Xun Yan has been chosen to receive the TOEFL Essentials New Scholar Award this year.

This is the highest achievement award for young scholars in language testing and is sponsored jointly by ETS (Educational Testing Service) and the International Language Testing Association (ILTA). This is also one of only two achievement awards given by ILTA, the other one being the life-time achievement award.

The award committee was particularly impressed with the breadth of topics and dissemination venues represented in Professor Yan's language testing research, as well as its immediate impact on the broader field of language testing. The committee also appreciated Professor Yan's extensive service to the field and engagement in mentoring and promoting the work of others.
