We are pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the 18th Annual Meeting of Illinois Language and Linguistics Society (ILLS 18), to be held at the Linguistics Department at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, US, on 26-27 March 2027. This year’s conference theme is “Language Variation in Time, Space, and Society.”
ILLS is an annual student-led conference in the Linguistics department at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Abstracts from any linguistic subfields are welcome. Student submissions are encouraged.
We welcome submissions exploring topics including but not restricted to:
- General linguistics
- Computational Linguistics
- SLA
- Theoretical Linguistics
The conference language is English, and the conference will be held onsite.
Submission Instructions:
We invite submissions that report empirical research, articulate clear research questions or hypotheses, describe the research design and methodology, provide theoretical contributions, and present preliminary or anticipated findings.
There are two submission categories: talk (20 min + 10 min for discussion) and poster. The authors should specify their preference for talks or posters in the submission, but the program committee may suggest a different category. Presentations will be in English.
Abstracts should be a maximum of 500 words, with one extra page allowed for images, data, and/or references. Full references are not necessary; please use the (Author, Year) format. Abstracts should be submitted via EasyAbs on LinguistList.org in PDF format with no identifying information of the presenter in the document.
