Sasli at Madison

Learn a South Asian language this summer!

The South Asia Summer Language Institute (SASLI) based at the University of Wisconsin – Madison is offering intensive summer courses in the following South Asian languages:
Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Malayalam, Marathi, Pashto, Sanskrit, Sinhala, Tamil, Telugu, Tibetan and Urdu.

SASLI will be offering Third-Year Hindi and Third-Year Urdu in addition to the elementary and intermediate level courses. All other classes will be offered at the elementary and intermediate levels only.

Applications for Summer 2018 are now being accepted! 

The summer 2018 program will run from June 18 - August 10.

Funding Options

  1. SASLI Half and Full Fee Remission - Application due March 12, 2018!
  2. $1000 Fee Remissions - Indicate interest when submitting the SASLI online application

Distance Learning

Want to take a SASLI course but can't travel to Madison?  SASLI offers a Distance Learning option.  The deadline to apply is March 15, 2018.  For more information, please visit:  https://sasli.wisc.edu/distance/

The SASLI web application and instructions can be found on the SASLI website at https://sasli.wisc.edu/student-application/. Please apply or encourage your students to apply as soon as possible as faculty hiring is based on student interest. The deadline to apply is April 1, 2018.
